Sheila Hale, MSN, RN, CRNI, VA-BC

Sheila began her nursing career as an LVN in 1985, advancing to an associate degree in 1993 from Austin Community College in Austin, TX. She received her BSN, 2015 and MSN, Leadership, 2018, from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ. Sheila has been a Certified Registered Nurse Infusion® (CRNI) since 2005, and Vascular Access-Board Certified™ (VA-BC) since 2010. She has over 15 years’ experience in vascular access and infusion therapy, has written articles for EVAN and JAVA, presented several podium and poster presentations at INS and AVA, and won best oral abstract for her presentation at the INS conference in 2014. In addition, she was contributor for the CVAD chapter of Infusion Therapy Made Incredibly Easy! ©, 5th Ed., 2017. She has served on the INS National Council on Education (NCOE) 2016-2017, the AVA Global Strategy Committee, and is currently a reviewer for the Journal of Infusion Nursing. Sheila was also a reviewer for the 2016 INS Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice. In 2010, Sheila co-founded CENTEXVAN, serving as Secretary, 2010-2011, President, 2012-2013, and is currently the web admin. She also maintains the social media pages for CENTEXVAN, and is co-admin of the Facebook group, Vascular Access and Infusion Specialists. Sheila was the 2012 Wise Foundation scholarship recipient, attending the World Congress on Vascular Access in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Sheila is a member of the Association for Vascular Access, Infusion Nurses Society, American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, Alpha Chi National College Honor Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International. Her current role is that of educator in vascular access, including education module creation/review, Cathflo nurse trainer, and guest faculty for the LVN program, IV skills lab, Austin Community College.

Lynn Deutsch, MSN, RN, CRNI, VA-BC

Lynn graduated in 1980 with an associate degree in applied science nursing from Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, NY.  She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from University of Texas at Arlington, TX in 2012.  She graduated in 2015 from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ with a Master of Science in nursing.  Lynn has been a Certified Registered Nurse Infusion® since 1997.  She is the 2015 National CRNI of the Year.  She has 20 years of experience in home infusion, ambulatory infusion, and vascular access.  She was a co-founder of CenTexVAN in 2010 and served as president from 2010-2012 and 2015-2017. Since 2008, Lynn has worked on the vascular access team at the Seton Family of Hospitals, Austin, TX.  Lynn is also an associate professor of nursing at Austin Community College since August of 2016 teaching Level 2 where RN students learn IV therapy in the clinical setting. Lynn is a member of the Association for Vascular Access, Infusion Nurses Society, American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, Golden Key International, Phi Kappa Phi International Nurses Association, Nurses Christian Fellowship, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
